Teen Support - During COVID-19

Updated: Apr 13, 2020

The coronavirus pandemic and societal changes that has come with a national crisis has sparked a lot of challenging emotions for teens: anxiety, worry, fear, and depression. With the school closures, lack of sports, no extracurricular activities, and not being able to see friends, teens are experiencing social isolation. A myriad of emotions and frustrations comes with these abnormal, now daily, life routines.

We would like to invite any teens looking for support to join Family Advocates’ weekly zoom “Teen Support Group.” These groups are intended to support other teens who have experienced/are experiencing sexual violence, domestic abuse (directly or in-home) or child abuse. It is important to note: **You can remain anonymous during zoom meetings by not using the camera feature on your device.

TEEN SUPPORT GROUP:

Mondays at Noon - Meeting ID: 835 635 379 | Password: 923801

While being at home, some teens hear more than they let on and all of that chaos is bound to have long-term consequences for our teens’ mental health. Family Advocates has compiled resources for teens that can help you during this time:

SURVIVOR/ABUSE RESOURCES

Any teen who is experiencing secondary abuse just by being in a home with domestic violence can reach out to Family Advocates for help or just to listen. Teens who have experienced direct abuse (sexual assault, child abuse), please call our hotline for help and resources.
